Description

This component implements a switching function model of a modular multilevel converter (MMC) valve with half bridge submodules (HBSMs). The converter is modelled with a switching function that can be driven by a PWM generator with (signals 0 or 1) or by a PWM averaging value (signals between 0 and 1). With PWM averaging method, the model can be as accurate as the detailed model and reduce the computation effort greatly, which could run in real-time simulation.

To appropriately simulate the blocked state (diode mode), the "Activate iterative method" must be enabled in the Simulation Settings.
