This document provides an overview and detailed information about the Data Logger OPREC Conversion File Converter window. The purpose of the Data Logger OPREC Conversion File Converter window is to facilitate the conversion of Data Logger’s OPREC file formats that are deprecated and can no longer be used in HYPERSIM.

Accessing the Window

Users can access the Data Logger OPREC Conversion File Converter window from the Control Center:

  • Navigate to Configuration.

  • Choose OPREC ConversionClick OPREC File Converter… button.

Header (1)

The header section of the Data Logger OPREC Conversion File Converter window includes the following buttons:

  • Browse image-20240328-212602.png: Allows users to browse for OPREC files to convert.

  • Clear Table image-20240328-212611.png: Clears the table containing OPREC file names and versions.

  • Help image-20240328-212622.png: Provides assistance or guidance for using the conversion tool.

The main content area of the window presents a table with the following columns:

  • OPREC File Name: Displays the names of OPREC files available for conversion.

  • Version: Indicates the version of the OPREC file.

Footer (3)

The footer section of the window displays the following elements:

  • Latest OPREC version supported by HYPERSIM : Indicates the latest version of OPREC files supported by HYPERSIM, and therefore the version to which the files in the table will be converted.

  • Backup old version : Checkbox option allowing users to back up the old version of OPREC files before conversion. The backup of the original files is automatically created with the postfix "_backup_old_format".

How to use the converter

Users can interact with the Data Logger OPREC Conversion File Converter window as follows:

  • Click on the Browse Button image-20240328-213616.pngImage Modified to open a file dialog box, allowing users to select OPREC files for conversion.

  • Click on the Clear Table Button image-20240328-213604.pngImage Modified to remove all files from the Main content.

  • Enable the Backup Checkboximage-20240328-212854.pngImage Modified to keep a backup of the old version of OPREC files before conversion.

  • Click on the Convert Button image-20240328-212931.pngImage Modified to start the conversion process for the selected OPREC files.

  • You can select multiple items to Remove them from the list with a right click or the key DELETE from your keyboard.

  • Right click on items to Open File Location.

After clicking on the Convert button, a popup will show the conversion status (1). This popup will inform users about the progress of the conversion process.

Once the process has terminated, another popup (2) will notify users if the conversion was successful or if there were any errors encountered during the process. Users can then review the results and take any necessary actions.

File Storage and Backup: It's important to note that the converted OPREC files are saved in their original repository. If the checkbox Backup old version is enabled, a backup of the original files is automatically created with the postfix "_backup_old_format".
