The OP8110 4-Quadrant Power Amplifier is the heart of the OPAL-RT line of OP1400 Series test benches. It is an ultra-compact (2U) 4 Quadrants – 3 or 6 output – Power Soft-Switching Amplifier. It features a DC to 10kHz bandwidth, The OP8110 can operate in both DC and AC modes with a bandwidth of 10 kHz with a low noise floor, fast high slew-rate, and extremely low harmonic distortion even under no-load conditions over all the bandwidth.

The OP8110 can be directly controlled by OPAL-RT’s simulation platforms through a high-speed fiber-optic SFP link, enabling it to emulate many different power topologies operating configurations such as:

  • 3-phase 0 to 208Vline-to-line microgridL-L,RMS

  • 3-phase 400Vline-0 to -line microgrid415VL-L,RMS

  • Single phase 120V/240V microgrid

  • 400VDC bus

  • ±400VDC bus

  • Other custom high voltage topologies

...

  • 0 to 120VL-L,RMS or 0 to 240VL-L,RMS

  • 0 to 400VDC bus OR 0 to -400VDC

The power level and number of simultaneous outputs differs between the OP1400/OP1420 test bench configurations, providing ample flexibility in selecting a suitable hardware platform for a wide range of application needs. The OP8110 is suitable for installation in any typical laboratory environment, featuring forced ambient air cooling with variable-speed fans along with both hardware and firmware-based protections to safeguard it from improper input/output connections (including shorted and unbalanced loads), over-temperature, over-current and supply under/overvoltages.The OP8110 features forced ambient air cooling with variable-speed fans which make it suitable for installation in any typical laboratory environment.short-circuit/over-current conditions and over/under voltages) as well as over-temperature conditions.

The OP8110 amplifier comes in two different variations depending on the number of outputs included:

  • OP8110-3 (3 outputs)

  • OP8110-6 (6 outputs)

Three amplifier outputs (L1, L2, L3) and their associated neutrals (N1, N2, N3) form one output group.

Therefore, the OP8110-3 has one output group – Group 1 whereas the OP8110-6 has two output groups – Group 1 & Group 2.
