Some data types in MATLAB Simulink may require different parameters if you are using a 64-bits target. If you are using a 32-bits target or a Windows PC, the default parameters are correct.
The typical error requiring this change is: “#error Code was generated for compiler with different sized ulong/long.”

MATLAB R2012A – 2012B: not compatible
For MATLAB R2013a version
In the Configuration Parameters window. Click on Hardware Implementation, select Device vendor : Intel and Device type: x86-64.
For MATLAB R2013b to R2015a versions
In the Configuration Parameters window. Click on Hardware Implementation, select Device vendor : Intel and Device type: x86-64.
For MATLAB R2015b version
In the Configuration Parameters window. Click on Hardware Implementation, select Device vendor : Intel and Device type: x86-64 (Linux 64).
For MATLAB R2016a version
In the Configuration Parameters window. Click on Hardware Implementation, select Device vendor : Intel and Device type: x86-64 (Linux 64).
For MATLAB R2016b to R2017a versions
In the Configuration Parameters window. Click on Hardware Implementation, select Device vendor : Intel and Device type: x86-64 (Linux 64).
For MATLAB R2017b to R2020b versions
In the Configuration Parameters window. Click on Hardware Implementation, select Device vendor : Intel and Device type: x86-64 (Linux 64).
