Line Generator | Parameters

The HYPERSIM Line Generator tools compute the RLC parameters of an overhead transmission line from its conductor characteristics and tower geometry.

The default parameters are for a single-circuit three-phase line with two ground wires.

Enter your own line parameters in various sub-tabs:

Parameters

The upper section where you enter general parameters (units, frequency, ground resistivity, and comments).

Line Geometry

The table of conductors specifying the line geometry and the conductor types (middle section).

Conductor and bundle characteristics

The table of conductor types defining the conductor characteristics for each type (bottom section).

Line Data Report

Report the electrical parameters of the line computed by the program.

Description

Compute

It uses the provided information to compute the line data. The results are shown in the Log tab.

Revert

It sets back the default parameter values.

Browse

Browse and load geometrical information of the line.

The required format is .hld for HYPERSIM Line Data.

Save

Save preparation data as a .hld file (HYPERSIM Line Data files) that contains the geometrical information and the line data.

Load parameters

It loads the computed parameters into the component.

Parameters

Frequency

Specify the frequency in hertz to be used to evaluate RLC parameters.

Ground Resistivity

Specify the ground resistivity in ohm.meters. A zero value (perfectly conducting ground) is allowed.

Comment

Use this window to type comments that you want to save with the line parameters, for example, voltage level, conductor types and characteristics, etc.
