Topology Analysis
This tool, available in the https://opal-rt.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HDI/pages/264995018 , aims at centralizing information regarding the topology overview.
To display the features of this tool, the 500KV-6Bus example model will be used, and edited as follows.
The model must be analyzed before opening this tool.
Circuit Overview
The main page of the Topology Analysis Report presents general information and statistics of the model.
The entirety of the report can be exported to an html document, using the top-right button. The same report is appended to the model Diagnostic .
Warnings and Errors
While topology errors will prevent from launching a simulation, warnings try to draw attention to the potential misconfiguration of the model. Errors can be filtered by level and by keywords.
Right-clicking a warning or an error provides an option to see additional details, and to locate the device on the circuit, if applicable.
Fragmented Signals
The edition in the introduction shows various techniques to connect signals. While it can be useful to avoid lines crossing the circuit, it can also create confusion in tracing the signals.
A signal is made of one or more segments. If two segments cannot be directly connected by a list of segments, they are considered to belong to separate roots of the signal.
Clicking the search button will look through the model for signals that contain multiple roots. It is then possible to locate the signal or the pins connected to the signal when right-clicking a row in the table.
Note : This process can take several minutes on larger models.
Limitation:
A signal which has been fragmented by Page Connectors can only locate the first page, as they share the same name.
A bundle Breakout cannot be located as it is not a component which takes part in the topology of the model, it is an artifact for simplifying the schematic.
