Bus

On this page:

For a positive sequence network, a bus voltage magnitude must be defined with values in p.u. unit. In this case, bus represents a connection point for balanced three phase lines, loads and generators in a power system.

On the contrary, for the multiphase network, an individual bus voltage magnitude must be defined with values in SI unit for each phase. Here, an individual bus represents a connection point for each phase of the line, load and generator.

A bus may be ‘tripped’ by setting a non-zero value on the ‘trip’ input pin. The result is a disconnection of all two-terminal components attached to the bus, isolating the bus from the rest of the network. The effect of tripping a bus remains permanent for the duration of a simulation.
