Supported Components

The following CYME components are supported by ePHASORSIM for unbalanced systems:

  • Topology: Bus, Node, Section, Source Node
  • Devices: Breaker, Busway, Cable, Fuse, Overhead line, Shunt reactor, Spot Load, Distributed Load, Switch, Recloser, Transformer, Regulator, Electronically Coupled Generator (ECG), Synchronous Generator

It has to be noted that not all data items for each component section are read in the current version of ePHASORSIM. Additionally, there may be some restrictions on those which are read. This section presents the data items for each section which are read from CYME netlist, along with the range of acceptable values.

Notes:

  • Breaker, Switch, Recloser and Fuse are all modeled using ePHASORSIM’s ‘Switch’.
  • Regulator is modeled as a transformer with a small impedance value.
  • Distributed Load is modeled as two ZIP loads connected to the mutual nodes of the line on which the distributed load is defined assuming half of the total active and reactive power on each side.
  • ECG model only works when the inverter control type is set to ‘Adjust Power Factor’ with mode ‘INV3’. In this case, it is modeled as a multi-phase constant power load with active power equal to the ‘Active Generation’ of the ECG with the opposite sign. The reactive power of the equivalent load is also calculated from the Power factor, defined in Inverter Control settings.
  • Synchronous generator is modeled as multiphase ZIP load. Also the load is a pure negative constant power type in which the magnitudes of P and Q are calculated as follows:
    • If all three phases are active, the P and Q of each phase of the representative load is equal to one-third of the generated P and Q for one machine multiplied by the ‘# of generators’ parameter.
    • If only one or two phases are active, the P and Q for each phase of the representative load is equal to the generated P and Q for one machine multiplied by the ‘# of generators’ parameter.
  • Transformer component is represented by multiphase transformer.
