ML605EX1 Resolver Out

Block

Mask

Description

The ML605EX1 Resolver Out is based on the basic resolver which is a two-pole resolver. The Resolver Out block is used to control the resolver.

This block has the following properties and features:

  • Possibility to use 2 resolvers per block.
  • Real-time adjustments of the speed, amplitude (carrier, sin and cos), frequency (carrier), and offset (sin and cos).
  • Carrier select between an internal carrier and an external carrier.

Parameters

Controller NameBind this block to an OpCtrl ML605EX1 block by entering the same 'Controller Name' as specified in the OpCtrl ML605EX1 block. The OpCtrl ML605EX1 block controls the initialization of the settings of one specific ML605 card in the system.
DataIn port numberEnter the index of the DataIn port to be controlled by this block, in the range [1:32].
Slot infoThis non-editable parameter displays the physical location of the analog output channels related to the selected DataIn port, as obtained from the parsing of the configuration file.
Number of resolver signalsThe block can use between 1 and 2 resolvers. To use 2 resolvers, it is required to set the number of resolvers in the block parameters and to use a 2:1 multiplexer before sending the data into each respective data input.
Carrier Select Mode

The user can select to use an internal carrier or an external carrier.

  • Internal Carrier: When the resolver is set in this mode, the internal exciter is configured via a generated carrier from the FPGA.
  • External Carrier: When the resolver is set in this mode, the external carrier is taken via an analog input port of the FPGA board.

Inputs

SpeedSet the speed of the simulated rotor. The value is represented in Hz. Range of values: -20000 to 20000.
Car.AmpCarrier amplitude if no external exciter is used. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: 0 to 15.
Car.FreqCarrier frequency if no external exciter is used. The value is represented in Hz. Range of values: 0 to 95000.
Sin.AmpSine of the modulated amplitude. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: 0 to 15. Due to hardware limitations, the product of Car.Amp and Sin.Amp should be less than 15.
Sin.BiasSine offset. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: -15 to 15.
Cos.AmpCosine of the modulated amplitude. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: 0 to 15. Due to hardware limitations, the product of Car.Amp and Sin.Amp should be less than 15.
Cos.BiasCosine offset. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: -15 to 15.

Outputs

The Status output returns the following values:

ValueDescription
0No error.
-1

Block could not be matched with an OpCtrl ML605EX1 block (check the 'Controller Name' value), or ML605 card initialization problem.

-2Internal memory initialization problem.

Characteristics and Limitations

Amplitude of output signals: The major limitation of the block in choice of amplitudes is imposed by the analog card; it is limited to +/- 16 V. Thus the user should consider this limiting resource in the choice of gain, amplitude and offset.
