ARTEMiS integrates fully into the Simulink environment in the form of a Simulink blockset, and it is fully compatible with Simulink Coder for real-time execution or for accelerating the model.
ARTEMiS optimizes RT-LAB in a way that enables users to automatically convert their Simscape Power Systems schematics into real-time simulations. This enables the distribution of a large, complex power systems model over several processors to obtain the computational power required to achieve high-performance, real-time execution on low-cost, off-the-shelf PCs and non-proprietary hardware.
Definitions
Host Computer
The computer used to run the RT-LAB software, including Simulink and Simscape Power Systems, is known as the Host Computer and is run on the Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 operating system.
Target Nodes
The computers used to run the simulation are called target nodes or targets. Target nodes can run using Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, or RedHat Linux (real-time) operating systems, allowing for a variety of simulation requirements. For higher computer performance, ARTEMiS and RT-LAB can be set up using a network of multi-processor computers.
