This Simulink-based block implements an interactive GUI for the user to control the OPAL-RT amplifier. The block allows OP8110-6 amplifier, allowing the user to see if the system or the amplifiers have faults, allows to enable or disable the input DC link and the output -Link and individual outputs of each amplifier "group" and the amplifier . Each amplifier "group" consists of three amplifiers. group, as well as monitor for the presence of any system faults.
Mask and Parameters
The GUI changes based on the configuration display layout automatically adapts to the specific configuration selected in the amplifier communication block (shown in OP8110-6 Interface Group RT-LAB Communication Block). Each amplifier "group" can have three modes of operation and the following is an illustration of the GUI in each of its mode of operation.
...
The following illustrates the layout of the GUI for the three different modes of operation possible for each individual amplifier group:
NOTE: The Amplifier 1, Amplifier 2, etc., labels on the Simulink blocks refer to the amplifier outputs L1, L2, etc.
Mode: INDEPENDENT |
Mode:GROUPED |
Mode:DIFFERENTIAL |

---|---|---|---|---|---|
STATUS GLOBAL | This section of the GUI deals with the overall OP8110 system operation. It shows "SYSTEM IS OK" if there is no system fault . It will show and "FAULT" if there is one. It also displays the mode of operation of the amplifier GROUP Group, i.e. 3PH INDEPENDENT, INDEPENDENT, 3PH GROUPED or 1PH DIFFERENTIAL. The RESET ALL button can be used to to reset all the faults of the amplifier and ready it for re-initialization. | GROUP1 DC BUS | This section shows any amplifier faults and bring the unit back to its initial state. | ||
GROUP 1: DC BUS / GROUP 2: DC BUS | These sections show the status of the input DC link for each amplifier GROUPGroup. Enable Amplifier DC OUTPUT Link pre-charges the amplifier group DC LINK and connects it to the amplifier DC inputsDC Link of the respective Group. DISABLE disconnects resets/disables the DC Link from the amplifier DC inputs. The status of the DC link Link is also displayed here.; DC “DC BUS ON!! - means ” indicates that the DC bus is turned on OFF - means the DC link is turned off | AMPLIFIER PHASE 1Link is enabled/pre-charged and “OFF” indicates that it is disabled. | |||
AMPLIFIER <#>: VOLTAGE CONTROL | This section show the status of the amplifier phase. It shows if the amplifier is in GUI CONTROL MODE or in MODEL CONTROL MODE Each output, denoted as “Amplifier <#>”, has a section for its respective control and status monitoring. Either “GUI CONTROL MODE” or “MODEL CONTROL MODE” will be shown depending on the configured control method of the respective output (as selected in the OP8110-6 Interface Group RT-LAB Communication Block). ENABLE OUTPUT OUTPUT turns on the the respective amplifier output. DISABLE turns off the respective amplifier output. The status of the amplifier phase is also displayed here. OFF - means the output is turned off One of three statuses will be displayed depending on the current state of the respective output:
