Dust Filter Inspection and Clean Up

The dust filter is located behind the front honeycomb grid. It can be visually and easily inspected thought the front grill. Use a flashlight if necessary.

The dust filter must never be clogged to ensure a good air flow inside the unit and prevent overheating.
Effective cooling is necessary to the optimal performance of the unit.

Overheating can damage the unit.

Avoid using the unit in a dusty environment.

Dust Filter and Air Exhaust Cleanup

Visually inspect the dust filter on a regular basis, minimum every 6 months or more often is necessary.
If the filter is dusty, it must be cleaned.

To access the dust filter:

Turn off the unit and disconnect the power cord

  • If the unit is in a rack, remove the rack screws, pull out the front of the unit or remove it completely from the rack.

  • Unscrew and remove the IRG-B/1PPS connector cap.

  • Removes the following screws:

    • 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel

    • 4 screws on top of the front panel

    • 2 screws on each side of the front panel

      • If rack brackets are installed, only remove the 2 frontmost screws, near the bracket flange

  • Pull out the front panel

  • The dust filter is attached to the back of the front panel. To remove it:

    • Unscrew the 4 nuts

    • Remove the holding plate

    • Remove the dust filter

Clean the dust filter with a vacuum cleaner or compressed air.

Reassemble the dust filter.

Reassemble the front panel.

Clean the rear air exhaust vents and the power supply ventilator with a vacuum cleaner.

Reinstall and reconnect the unit

Dust Filter Replacement

If damaged, replace the dust filter.
Order part number 110-3187 (OP48XX Dust filter).

External Chassis Cleaning

Disconnect the power cord before cleaning.

  • Use a damp cloth to clean the external surfaces.

  • Use mild detergent if necessary.

    • Do not spray water or cleaning products on the unit.

    • Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.

  • If necessary, use compressed air to remove dust.

  • No labels
