Description

Asynchronous Serial Interface is a widely used serial interface standard for industrial applications especially, gyroscope. The Asynchronous Serial Interface communication block encapsulates data characters between start bits and stops bits. It takes bytes of data and transmits the individual bits in a sequential fashion. At the destination, a second Asynchronous Serial Interface device re-assembles the bits into complete bytes.

Parameters

Sample PeriodSpecify the system clock period. This parameter is not accessible to the user.
Baud RateSpecify the baud rate of the interface.

Inputs

RXDReceive Serial data port.
DATAINThis port holds the 8 bits data to be serialized.
VALIDINThis port is used to specify that the data present on port DATAIN is valid.

Outputs

TXDTransmit Serial data port.
DATAOUTThis port holds the 8 bits data after de-serialization.
VALIDOUTThis port indicates that data present on port DATAOUT is valid.
