Description

Similar to the thyristor model, a GTO+diode is modeled as a thyristor with an internal diode in shunt. The switch of the GTOis controlled by a logical signal depending on the terminal voltage, current, and the gating signal. The diode protects the semiconductor device by providing a conduction path for reverse current.

The model also provides a signal Failsig  which shows if the block has reached its normal or reverse breakdown voltage or if an untimely firing had happened. The model also has an option to be controlled from external signals and an option to enter the precision delay D.

Depending on the user's requirement, there is also an option to select the precision functionality, which allows the user to compensate for errors due to digital implementation of the model during the state switching as a function of time step.
