Description

The OP5971 was designed as a convenient solution to connect each individual channel routed through OPAL-RT’s standard DB37 I/O connector.

There is no signal conditioning or any impact on the signals. The OP5971 simply passes signals through the DB37 to SMB.

Pin Assignments

The table below gives the pin-out of the DB37 I/O connector and the corresponding SMB pin-out  Note that all SMB connectors are referenced to the same GND.

It is important to note a difference in the GND connections when using the DB37 to SMB adapter as this may impact isolation.

Using with Digital Outputs

When using this adapter with digital output signals, users must provide an external power supply. Use connector P4 at the bottom right to connect the power source.
