This course on DC/DC Power Electronics converters introduces the principles of operation of DC-to-DC converters, also referred to as choppers.
Students will be introduced to various types of choppers and learn their different characteristics.
They will also learn the impact of varying duty cycle, PWM frequency, input voltage, and choppers’ parameters, namely inductance (L) and capacitor (C) on the operation of dc-to-dc converters.
Furthermore, students will learn the effects of resistive and inductive loads on choppers’ output waveforms.
