Understanding the Panel
When starting the demo, the panel in figure 9 appears first with the default settings.
Figure 9: Start-Up Panel of the DC Motor Drive Laboratory
The panel is to be operated as follows:
- In the upper left corner, under DC Machine (DCM) the student can set the field voltage of the DC machine and can change the value of the resistive load which can be connected or not.
- In the middle left corner, under DC Motor Under Test (MUT), the student can set the field voltage of the MUT and can block the rotor.
- Under Voltage Source, the student can control the voltage magnitude to be applied.
- In the down-left corner, under Estimation & Command, the student can access the parameter identification tab, as well as speed and current controls.
- Once an estimation procedure or a control is selected and run, the student can observe the related waveforms and/or displayed values under Oscilloscopes.
More details about the displayed waveforms and values are discussed later.
Table 1 summarizes the control parameters, while table 2 is dedicated to the control buttons.
Control Parameters | Tab | Default Value | Interval of Variation |
