7. Interfaces

An Interface Table contains IO inputs and IO outputs.

An IO Interface has an associated subsystem with which it can be connected. Some allow for multiple associated subsystems.

IO Interfaces

An IO Interface in Dashboards contains data points of IO Outputs and IO Inputs.

A project can have multiple IO Interfaces. These can be added and edited in RT-LAB. For more information see: https://opal-rt.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PRD

An IO Interface can have an associated subsystem.

Associated Subsystem

In the case of IO Interfaces, creating the first connection between two data points (one interface and one from a subsystem) associates the interface with said subsystem.

Not all data points can be connected together. Once a IO Interface has an associated subsystem, data points from that IO Interface can only connect to data points from that subsystem. To create a connection, see https://opal-rt.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PDASH/pages/68519452

Exception: Some IO Interfaces allow multiple connections, such as the OPAL-RT Board

The Associated Subsystem can be viewed at the top of the Interface view, above the filter.

The Associated Subsystem can also be viewed in the data point picker.

Table View

IO Interface tables are visible in tree view format or in flat view format, which can be toggled with the following button: button.png

Similar to Model tables, data points in IO Interface tables can be connected to other data points, they can be added to Table Boards and the can be sorted and filtered.
