Machine Data | Introduction

The Machine Data tab is used to model a synchronous machine with internal faults such as inter-turn fault, phase-to-ground fault, phase-to-phase fault, etc. Since the internal fault model requires numerous parameters that are computed from standard parameters and winding information, a parameter generator was introduced directly in the mask of the machine with internal fault.

Compute

It uses the provided information to generate all the parameters required by the simulation model.

Revert

It reverts to the default preparation data.

Browse

It is used to load preparation data. The required format is .hmd for HYPERSIM Machine Data.

Save

It is used to save preparation data as a .hmd file (HYPERSIM Machine Data files)

Load parameters

It loads the computed parameters into the component.

Description

Parameters

it contains general information and user comments to be saved in the Hypersim machine data (.hmd) file.

  • The rotor type has an impact on the number of rotor circuits on the q-axis.

  • A salient-pole machine has a single q-axis damper while the round-pole machine has two.

Standard

it is used to enter the standard parameters per unit (p.u.) and convert to fundamental parameters. It computes the standard parameters associated with the fundamental parameters displayed for comparison.

Fundamental

It is used to enter the fundamental parameters per unit (p.u.) and convert to standard parameters

Winding

It contains the necessary winding parameters. A winding file must be loaded and corresponding parameters will be displayed. The format of the winding file, as well as the required information, are given at the end of this document.

Fault

It allows the user to provide the winding information as a .m file (MATLAB program file).

Log

It displays the machine data report after the computation has run.
