2024-01-25 - Notice of obsolescence for Dynamic LabVIEW® Panels and TestDrive 2.9 in RT-LAB

Announcement

OPAL-RT Dashboards now support all the features that were previously exclusive to Dynamic LabVIEW® Panels and OPAL-RT TestDrive 2.9.

Consequently, RT-LAB 2024.1 will be the final version that permits the creation of new panels in projects not utilizing OPAL-RT Dashboards technology.
Starting with RT-LAB 2024.2, only already existing projects with existing panels will allow editing and using these panels.

In order to provide enough time to plan ahead for our clients, we intend to remove entirely Dynamic LabVIEW® Panels in version 2024.4 and TestDrive 2.9 in version 2025.2. This will at the same time improve software stability.

IMPORTANT

Rest assured that this obsolescence won’t affect in any way the existing LabVIEW API available in RT-LAB, and it will still be possible to use LabVIEW panels independently and connect them to any RT-LAB simulation through I/O signals (TCP, OPC-UA, etc.)

From the following version, the Dynamic LabVIEW® Panels panels will cease functioning completely in RT-LAB.

Last software version supported for panels created in TestDrive 2.9.

From the following version, the TestDrive 2.9 panels will cease functioning completely in RT-LAB.
