How to Create a Circuit Model

Procedure

This article describes the requirements for creating a circuit model that can be simulated using the Power Electronics Addon. Circuit models are created using the OPAL-RT Schematic Editor.

1. Follow the How to Add the Power Electronics Add-On to the System Definition to add the custom device to a new of existing VeriStand project

2. Expand the Power Electronics Add-On (OPAL-RT Circuit) custom device and select a Circuit section to display the configuration page.

3. Click the Create New Circuit button. Select a location and name for the new circuit model. Wait for the Schematic Editor to open a blank model.

4. Follow the instruction for Building a Buck Converter to create a simple circuit model.
