OpNI60xE Windowed AIn Ctrl
Block
Mask
Description
The NI60xE Windowed AIN blocks (OpNI60xEWindowedAInCtrl and OpNI60xEWindowedAIn) are typically used to perform Analog Input signal acquisitions synchronized with engine signals. The blocks use two National Instruments boards: a NI60xE board and a NI6602 board. The acquisitions are performed using the Analog Input channels oftheNI60xE board and are controlled with the PFI lines of the NI60xEboard and one-timer of the NI6602 board.
Three external engine signals are used to control the acquisitions: a Crank, a CAM, and an Index signal. These signals can be produced by an external device or by an OP5110 board running the Engine SynchronousPulse Generation feature. These engine signals define the acquisition cycle.
The OpNI60xEWindowedAInCtrl block derives two more signals from these three engine signals: a Window signal and a CAM Resyncsignal. The cycle is referenced on the CAM Resync signal which is a square wave synchronized on the falling edge of the Index signal..This signal is used to trigger a series of acquisitions of one sample per channel per degree.
The second signal derived from the engine signals, the Window signal, determines the subset of acquisitions returned to the model. The Window signal is a waveform with falling edges aligned on the start positions of the windows of acquisition specified in the OpNI60xEWindowedAIn block, and with a 50% duty between consecutive windows. This signal is produced at the output of one-timer of the NI6602 board and is used to trigger an interrupt on the NI60xE board that in turn triggers the execution of the triggered subsystem where the OpNIESEriesWindowAIn block is placed.
Typical waveforms of these 5 signals are presented in the figure below.
Parameters
Window Ctrl ID | Enter an integer value. The same value will be set in the OpNI60xEWindowed block that will define the acquisitions windows. |
---|---|
Bus Type | Select the bus type (PCI or PXI) of the target node. This option is not available yet, the only PCI bus is supported for now. |
Card Type | Select the card model. |
PCI index | Enter the PCI index (see definition)of the card on the PCI (or PXI) bus. |
Channel Mode | Select the channel polarity mode in this list. Make sure that the hardware connections for the analog input channels are consistent with this selection. |
Window Signal | This option allows the user to select the source of the Window signal: external (generated from a source other than the NI6602 board), internal(generated by the NI6602 board) or continuous. This option has not been tested in v8.0.x. |
Cycle Width (in degree) | Number of degrees per cycle. This option is not available yet, the cycle width is set to 720 degrees. |
Window resolution (in degree) | This parameter allows for changing the resolution of the window signal. |
Synchronize on zero degrees | This parameter allows the user to select which edge of the Index signal is used as the 0-degree reference. This parameter is not available yet, the falling edge is used as the 0-degree reference. |
End of window edge on G0 Gate | This parameter allows the user to select which edge of the window signal triggers the acquisition subsystem. This parameter is not available yet. The falling edge of the window signal is used to trigger the acquisition subsystem. |
Enable Triggered Subsystem | When this parameter is checked, triggered subsystems are used to retrieve the data acquired during the acquisition windows. |
Trigger Subsystem Group Label | Enter the group label(s) that will be used to match the OpSubsystemTriggerblock(s) associated with this block. The group label is formed by a character chain followed by a number. For example the label Cylinder/0refers to the OpSubsystemTrigger block with group label "Cylinder". |
Remain active duringPause | If this option is checked, the acquisition windows will keep being triggered when the model is in the Pause state. |
Inputs
This block has no inputs.
Outputs
This block has no outputs.
Characteristics and Limitations
Connections
Systems using the OpNI60xEWindowedAINCtrl and OpNI60xEWindowedAIn blocks usually ship with custom made cables that allow to easily connect the engine signals and other derived signals to the NI60xE and NI6602boards.
For information on these specific cables please refer to the documentation received with your system or contact support@opal-rt.com.
