To execute your models, you will need to load in RT-LAB, the custom HIL2GO-200 firmware provided below.

The firmware is included in the integration test model (see next page).
If the integration test model is already loaded in RT-LAB, then the firmware in also loaded in RT-LAB, so you don’t need to do the importing procedure below.

The custom firmware delivered in this project includes an eHS solver that can be used with the OPAL-RT Schematic Editor.

Files to Download

Please download the two files below, on your host Windows PC, as you will need them to execute your model and configure Schematic Editor.

  • The “.bin” file is the bitstream file needed to compile your model and execute it on the target.

  • The “.ioconf” file is the configuration file you will need to install in Schematic Editor on your Windows host.

Importing the Custom Firmware Configuration File in Schematic Editor

The system is delivered has a custom firmware configuration. Therefore, the custom firmware configuration file must be added to the Schematic Editor database in order to use eHS.
The required firmware files, including the *.ioconf file can be downloaded above.

You only have to add the firmware configuration file once.

To add the new firmware configuration file in the Schematic Editor, open Schematic Editor from Windows and follow this procedure: Including a new firmware

Configuring a Setup for a New Simulation Project

To add connections between the model and the analog and digital I/Os of the simulator, a Simulator Setup must be configured when you start a new project.
This setup defines the type of I/O interface a simulator provides, as well as the available hardware resources.
The procedure is explained here : Configuring a Setup for Your Simulation
