Installing
Install the OP4512 simulator on a table or in a mounting rack with sufficient space on both sides to allow proper airflow cooling (about 15 cm or 6 in.).
Connect the Power and Ground
Connect the power cord to the unit and to an appropriate power source (outlet).
If installed in a rack, connect the ground screw to the rack, if installed in a rack. See how to connect the ground screw here.
Connect the Simulator to the Host PC
The OP4512 simulator communicates with the Windows host computer via TCP/IP.
The simulator can be connected in two different ways:
Directly to your host computer (direct connection)
Via your local area network (local area network configuration).
Please follow the instructions in this page to connect your host PC in either way:
Connect the Ethernet cable provided to the primary Ethernet port named eno1.
Its default IP address: 10.64.117.149.
IPMI
The OPAL-RT simulators can be controlled remotely through the IPMI interface. This article of the OPAL-RT knowledge base explains how to do so.
Your IPMI credentials are in the HIL2GO bundle data card named “Meet your HL2GO bundle.” delivered with your system.
Power up the OP4512
Turn on the main power switch in the back of the OP4512.
WARNING: Make sure that the main power switch at the rear of the unit is easily accessible for emergency shutdown.
Press the red power button in the front of the unit.
