How to Add a Circuit Model to the System Definition

Procedure

The Parameter Sets feature can be used to modify the characteristics of most elements in the circuit model while the simulation is running. This article describes how to parameter sets directly in the Schematic Editor and how to apply a specific set while the simulation is running.

  1. In the VeriStand System Definition, browse to the Circuit section. Confirm that a circuit model has already been added.

  2. Click Edit to open the circuit in the Schematic Editor.

  3. In the Schematic Editor, click on the Solver Settings button and ensure that the Parameter set storage management is set to From FPGA. Click Apply.

The From CPU option for Parameter set storage management is not supported in the Power Electronics Addon.

  1. Follow the Parameter Sets feature guide to create, add, and/or modify parameter sets in the circuit model. Save the circuit model.

  2. Navigate back to the VeriStand System Definition. In the Circuit section, click Reload. Notice that a Parameter Set channels will now have been added to the tree as shown below.

  3. Save the System Definition file and Deploy the VeriStand project.

  4. To switch between Parameter Sets at execution time, modify the value of the Parameter Set channel. For instance, a Numeric Control can be added to the project Workspace to allow the operator to modify the Parameter Set channel manually while the simulation runs.
