Install RT-LAB on the Target (Optionnal)

Page Content

If you want to run RT-LAB on the target, RT-LAB must be properly installed on your remote Windows computer first.
See here to know how: https://opal-rt.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/POPALRTLINUX/pages/604242294.

Upload the Installation file to the Target

Connect to the OPAL-RTLinux Target in MobaXterm

  • Go to the directory (folder) where the RT-LAB version is installed:

    C:\OPAL-RT\RT-LAB\v2023.1.0.533\target\rt_linux64

  • The version number may be different depending on your RT-LAB version

    • The directory path may be different if you installed RT-LAB in a different folder than the default folder

  • Select the rpm file.

    rtlab-rt_linux64-v2023.1.0.533.rpm

  • Wait for the download to complete.

  • You should see the ‘.rpm’ file appear in the left pane.

    • Alternatively, in the terminal window, you can type ‘ls’ (Linux “list” command).

      • You should see the file name displayed under the command.

    • If the file is not listed, it’s because the file was not uploaded. Try to upload it again.

Install RT-LAB on the Target

  • To install RT-LAB on the target, type this Linux command in the terminal window. Replace the version number 2023.1.0.533 by your own version number:

rpm -ivh --force rtlab-rt_linux64-v2023.1.0.533.rpm

When the installation is done, you should see your target with an activated license in RT-LAB.

If you don’t see your target, or it doesn’t connect to RT-LAB, try these actions, in this order:

  • Restart RT-LAB on your computer

  • Delete and add your target again in RT-LAB

  • Reset (reset button or power button) or reboot the target (Linux ‘reboot’ command on the target, via IPMI interface or within MobaXterm)

  • Reboot your computer

RT-LAB is installed on your OP4510 real-time simulator.

Setup and Test the RT-LAB installation

To add a target to RT-LAB on your host PC, to add or update licenses, to load a model and test your updated system, refer to the RT-LAB user manual, especially these sections and pages:

To test your updated system, you can use the hardware test model provided with your OP4510 real-time simulator (for example RTDemo1 as shown below) or run one of your own models.

See also your System Description Document concerning hardware test model.
