The migration to OPAL-RTLinux can be done by operating the target in two ways:
Directly, by connecting the OP4510 simulator (the target) to a monitor, à keyboard and a mouse
Remotely, by using the OP4510 simulator IPMI capabilities
Both ways can be used at the same time to operate the target.
You will also need a computer with Microsoft Windows connected to the same network as the target.
Operate the Target Using a Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse
To operate the target directly:
Connect a monitor using a VGA cable to port #9
Connect a USB keyboard to port #3 or #4
Connect a USB mouse to port #3 or #4
Operate the Target Using IPMI
To operate the target remotely by IPMI:
Connect an Ethernet cable to port #2
See this page on how to set up and use IPMI: Configure and Use the IPMI Interface
Connect the Target to the Local Network
Normally, if one Ethernet cable for communication with the local network is connected, it should be to port #7
This is the recommended configuration and the one we will use in this procedurePort #7 is referred as network interface eth0 in Red Hat Linux and as eno1 in OPAL-RTLinux
Port #8 if used, it is referred as network interface eth1 in Red Hat Linux and as eno2 in OPAL-RTLinux
