Operating System Migration Requirements

These are the requirement for migrating from Red Hat Linux 5 to OPAL-RTLinux 3.5.4.

Hardware

  • OP4510v2 Real-time HIL simulator.

    • OP4510v1 cannot migrate to OPAL-RTLinux 3.5.4.

    • If you have one of these earlier systems, your local representative will tell you and explain what your options are for a more up-to-date simulator.

Operating System

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2

Intel Compiler License

  • Your Intel compiler version date must be 2019 or more recent.

    • If the date is older than or if the Intel compiler is absent, the OS migration procedure will execute successfully, but RT-LAB or HYPERSIM functions requiring the compiler won’t run.

    • The presence and validity of the Intel compiler license are verified manually in the migration procedure. The way to get a valid license from Intel is also documented in the same page.

RT-LAB

If you are using RT-LAB under Red Hat Linux, you need to have a version between 2023.1.0.533 and 2024.1 to continue using the same license under OPAL-RTLinux.

  • If you have an older RT-LAB version, you will need to download, install and buy a license for the most recent version of RT-LAB.

    • RT-LAB version 2024.1 is the last version that can run on Red Hat Linux 5 OS

    • If you don’t upgrade to a compatible version of RT-LAB, the OS migration procedure will execute successfully, but you won’t be able to run your older version of RT-LAB under OPAL-RTLinux.

  • If you want to install RT-LAB version 2024.2 or higher after migration to OPAL-RTLinux 3.5.4:

HYPERSIM

If you are using HYPERSIM under Red Hat Linux, you need to have a version between 2023.1 and 2024.1 to continue using the same license under OPAL-RTLinux.

  • If you have an older HYPERSIM version, you will need to download, install and buy a license for the most recent version of HYPERSIM.

    • HYPERSIM version 2024.1 is the last version that can run on Red Hat Linux 5 OS

    • If you don’t upgrade to a compatible version of HYPERSIM, the OS migration procedure will execute successfully, but you won’t be able to run your older version of HYPERSIM.

  • If you want to install HYPERSIM version 2024.2 or higher after migration to OPAL-RTLinux 3.5.4:
