How to Set the Hardware Configuration
Before deploying the project, the CMDE Add-On must be configured with a specific Hardware Configuration. This configuration determines the type of FPGA board(s) targeted by the emulation and the features available in the FPGA firmware.

How to Add the CMDE Add-On to the System Definition
Procedure
Select Hardware Configuration
Launch the VeriStand System Explorer and navigate to the CMDE Add-On Custom Device in the configuration tree.
Select a configuration from the drop down menu. The Configuration Description indicator will list the supported features of this configuration. The configuration tree will also update accordingly.
Enter Target Credentials
Enter your target Username and Password.
The default NI target credentials are as follows:
Username:
admin
Password: leave empty
Save the system definition file.
Configure FPGA Alias
In the NI MAX configuration tree, expand Remote Systems, locate your target, and expand Devices and Interfaces.
Expand the chassis and locate the FPGA card(s) in your target.
Verify that the FPGA aliases match those listed in the configuration description (CMDE0, CMDE1, etc).
