Tabletop Use

Make sure to provide all adequate and necessary ventilation (at least 10 cm or 4 inches) at the front (cooling air intake) and the rear (cooling air exhaust) of the unit.

Mounting Rack Use

Usually, the rack mount brackets and handles are not assembled to the chassis.
Assemble the provided mounting brackets with handles to mount in a 19-inch rack.

Hardware List

The hardware for the rack mount brackets and handles are provided in a plastic bag.

  • 2x 2U Rack Mount Brackets 

  • 2x Pull Handles Black Anodized Aluminum 8-32 x 3”

  • 4x T00-6800 Black SS Phillips Flat Head Screws 8-32 X ½” long

  • 8x T00-1402 Black, SS, Phillips Flat Head Screws 6-32 x 5/16” long

Assembling the Brackets and Handles

Follow these simple steps to install the brackets and the handles.
For each side:

  • Remove the two (2) top front screws.

    • Put the screws away, they will be replaced with longer ones.

  • Assemble each rack mount bracket using 4 screws.

    • Do not use the screws you removed in the previous steps, they are too short.

    • 4 screws per bracket, 6-32 x 5/16" flat head, Phillips, OPAL-RT P/N T00-1402

  • Assemble the handle to the bracket using two (2) screws.

  • 2 screws per handle, 8-32 x ½" flat head, Phillips, OPAL-RT P/N T00-6800

Connecting the Cables and Powering on the Unit

These are the basic cabling instructions for your OP5025XG. Use the cables provided to connect your devices, as instructed.

  1. Connect the power cord to the unit and to the appropriate power source (outlet).

  2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the leftmost bottom network port

  3. OPTIONAL: Connect one end of a PCIe cable to the PCIe Host adapter. The other end is connected to another unit, most likely an FPGA processor and I/O expansion unit.

  4. Turn on the main power switch in the back.

Make sure that all cables are properly connected before powering up.

Make sure that the main power switch at the rear of the unit is easily accessible for emergency shutdown.

To turn on the simulator, press the front On/Off Button.
