HIL2GO-310 - Install RT-LAB on your Windows PC

Before using your OP5020XG/OP4810-IO system, you have to install OPAL-RT’s RT-LAB on your Windows PC. When it's done, it will be referred to the host or simply localhost. Note that in the documentation, you may also encounter the name Windows target, or sometimes command station. They are synonyms and all refer to the instance of RT-LAB installed on your Windows PC.

The simulator’s version of RT-LAB is already installed and tested on the simulator (target) you received.

RT-LAB and its toolboxes installed on your target have a temporary license.
After unboxing and installing your system, you will need to activate your permanent license in order to use it on the long-term, as explained here.

Prerequisite

Before installing RT-LAB on your Windows PC, make sure that you have MATLAB®/Simulink® installed on your host Windows computer with an active license (not provided by OPAL-RT) and the mandatory and optional toolboxes.

Install RT-LAB on your Windows Host PC

The detailed instructions are provided here: Installing RT-LAB on Windows Command Stations and Windows Target Nodes.

Here is a summary of the installation steps:

Download and install the latest version of RT-LAB from OPAL-RT Download Center.
The firewall configuration is usually automatic, except in certain circumstances where you have to configure it manually (see this page)
Validate the installation
NOTE: If the optional ARTEMiS toolbox is part of the bundle you purchased, you only have to verify if the ARTEMiS toolbox is installed
