Full-Bridge Topology Fault Signals Test
This test is designed to determine whether the fault tab in MMC parameter block and the fault set block can work correctly. There are five scenarios of faults, g1~g4 open circuit fault and capacitor short-circuit fault. The fault can be cleared if corresponding checkbox is checked.
This test should be based on the Vcap display and Gate Switches test. If the results of that test are correct, this test can be operated correctly.
- This test should base on Vcap display block and Gate Signals block, so the test step 1) to 5) in section 4.2 should be operated firstly.
- Use the drop-down selections to select 3: fault on different valves, select different fault setting patterns for different valves as shown in Figure 23.
- Open fault set block, in the SM group tab, select SM group 0 to ‘1: by starting # and # of SM’ and in the next parameter ‘[starting #, # of cell]’ give a vector [0 5] as shown in Figure 24. It means the first 5 cells are faulty.
- Select SM group 1 to ‘2: 20 SM by bit set with offset’ and then in the next column, give a vector of 20 as shown in Figure 24. It means the first 2 cells and the last cell are faulty.
- Go to the tab fault0, check the box ‘Apply (checked) or remove (unchecked) fault’ of ‘5: capacitor short-circuit fault’, then check one or more boxes below as Figure 25.
- Pay attention to the Total Vcap Display block, Vcap Display block and Vmmc Display block in the console. Every time one fault signal is given to a cell, the Vcap value of the corresponding cell is turned to 0, user can apply more faults during simulation, in the process, see if more cells Vcap turn to 0.
- Check the box ‘clear temporary fault (checked)’ in the fault tab in MMC Parameters block and uncheck the box ‘on SM group 0’ and check the box ‘on SM group 1’ in the fault0 tab in fault set block.
- See if the Vcap display shows the faulty cells.
