TestDrive GUI (Interface) Menu

File

The File menu refers to configuration files. For details on configuration files, consult the Using the TestDrive Interface - Customizing your Environment section of the User Guide and for administrators, the Installing TestDrive section of the System Administrator Guide.

New…

Create a new configuration file.

Open…

Open a configuration file.

Save

Saves the configuration changes.

Save As…

Saves the configuration file under a different name.

Import…

Opens the Import dialog box which allows the user to import parts of configurations or entire configurations.

Pack & Go…

Opens the Configuration Packing dialog box which allows the user to pack an entire configuration as a .zip file to easily exchange of information from user to user.

Unpack…

Opens the Configuration Unpacking dialog box which allows users to select a packed configuration and unpack it to their own profile.

Exit

Closes the application. If some changes were made without being saved, the user is prompted to save before closing.

Alternative:

The Close control (X) located at the right of the application's title bar.

View

The View menu items display or hide certain groups of controls. For more details on these menu items, see the Views section of the User Guide.

Show Module Config

Shows the Config group of the Config/Panels tab control.

Alternative:

The Config tab on the Config/Panels tab control.

Show Panels

Shows the Panels group of the Config/Panels tab control.

Alternative:

The Panels tab on the Config/Panels tab control.

Show Primary Chassis

When this item is selected, the modules that are displayed in the Config group of the Config/Panels tab control are the primary chassis' modules; also, the Module LEDs reflect the primary chassis modules states.

Alternative:

The Primary Chassis radio button of the Chassis toolbar.

Show Secondary Chassis

When this item is selected, the modules that are displayed in the Config group of the Config/Panels tab control are the secondary chassis' modules; also, the Module LEDs reflect the secondary chassis modules states.

Alternative:

The Secondary Chassis radio button of the Chassis toolbar.

Mode

The Mode menu items allow to activate the different modes of the TestDrive Interface. For more details on modes, see the Modes section of the User Guide.

Control Mode

Activates the Control mode. The virtual components and sub-panel components can then be used to control the simulator. Explanations on how use the Control mode can be found in the Running the Simulator section of the User Guide.

Alternative:

Click the Control button of the Mode toolbar.

Customize Mode

Activates the Customize mode. The Customize toolbar becomes available and the Signal Tree is displayed in the customization pane. Explanations on how use the Customize mode can be found in the Customizing your Environment section of the User Guide.

Alternative:

Click the Customize button of the Mode toolbar.

Observe Mode

To be implemented.

Scripts

The Scripts menu items allow users to run the simulator using scripts. For more details on running scripts, see the Running the Simulator section of the User Guide.

Load…

Opens the file browser that allows the user to select a script and loads the selected script.

Alternative:

The Load button on the Script toolbar.

Edit…

Clicking the Edit button opens the currently loaded script in the Python Editor. If no script is loaded, it opens the file browser that allows the user to select a script file and edits it in the Python editor.

Run

Alternative:

The Edit button in the Script toolbar.

Runs or resumes running of the currently loaded script.

Alternative:

The Run button in the Script toolbar.

Pause

To be implemented.

Stop

Stops the running script.

Alternative:

The Stop button in the Script toolbar.

Single Step

To be implemented.

Recently Loaded Scripts

To be implemented.

Output Window

Activates the Output window. For more details on the Output Window, see the

Running the Simulator section of the User Guide.

Alternative:

The Output Window checkbox in the Script toolbar; available when a script is loaded.

Macro

The macro functions are all to be implemented.

Panels

The Panels menu contains all the functions related to panels or sub-panels.

Load…

Opens the file browser that allows the user to select a sub-panel and loads the selected sub-panel in the customization pane.

Alternative:

The Load… button in the Panels group of the Config/Panels tab control.

Panel Components…

To be implemented.

Recently Loaded Panels

To be implemented.

Tools

The Tools menu allows the users to access the configuration, options, and preferences tools.

Configure System

Opens the System Configuration panel.

Alternative:

The Configure System button in the Customize toolbar; available when the Customize mode is active.

Primary Chassis

Allows the user to select from a submenu, one of the Primary chassis' modules and opens the selected module's configuration dialog box.

Base Module

Opens the Base Module Configuration dialog box.

Switch Module

Opens the Switch Module Configuration dialog box.

RPG Module

Opens the Reference Pulse Generator Module Configuration dialog box.

POM Module

Opens the Pulsed Output Module Configuration dialog box.

PDL Module

Opens the Pulse Driven Load Module Configuration dialog box.

RS Module

Opens the Resistive Sensor Module Configuration dialog box.

Secondary Chassis

Allows the user to select from a submenu, one of the Secondary chassis' modules and opens the selected module's configuration dialog box.

Preferences…

Opens the preferences dialog box which allows users to set their TestDrive preferences.

Options…

Opens the Options dialog box which allows users to change the current configuration's options.

Unassign All

To be implemented.

Help

The Help menu contains helpful tools and links to different online documentation.

Show Context Help

Displays the LabVIEW context help.

Online Help - User Guide

Opens the Online User Guide.

Online Help - Quick Reference Guide

Opens the Online Quick Reference Guide.

Online Help – System Administrator Guide

Opens the online System Administrator Guide.

Displays this TestDrive Interface version number, copyright, legal, and licensing notes.
