WTGS - Objective

This document is intended to teach the students about the real-time operation principles of a wind turbine generation system (WTGS).
Students will be introduced to type 3 WTGS, known commonly as the Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) with rotor-side and grid-side controllers.

Students will also learn the impact of varying wind speed and reference reactive power on the WTGS steady-state operation, output waveforms, and power flow.
