Switch Ron Verification

This test is designed to test whether the value of Switch Ron is correct or not. To achieve the test purpose, we can charge the cells with a certain arm current, at the same time, fix the Vcap to 0, and then observe whether the Vmmc equals to the mathematic calculation value or not.

  1. System initialization.
  2. For easy testing, set the value of switch Ron in MMC Parameter block to 10 ohm. And set the value of resistance in shunt with the cell capacitor in MMC Parameter block to 1e12ohm.
  3. Set the number of cell per arm wanted to be tested in MMC Parameter block, and change Vb correspondingly.
  4. Change the Vcap mode to 1: Vcap reset to 0.
  5. Give ON signals to the switch gate of MMC cells need to be test in MMC pulse block.
  6. To generate a DC arm current with magnitude 0.1, setup the Arm Current Generation block as Table 5.
  7. Pay attention to the Vmmc and the Vcap. In this case, the Vcap of each cell and the total Vcap is nearly 0. But due to the switch Ron, the Vmmc is nearly 10.

It should be noted that the mathematic calculation of the final Vmmc value is below:

Vmmc=∑iarm_DC*Ron+Vcap_total

In our test, Vcap_total is fixed to 0, iarm_DC=0.1, Ron=10, and the number of cells per arm is set to 10. So, the Vmmc=10*(0.1*10) =10.

Because the real-time simulation is based on a discrete system, sometimes there is a small calculation error.
