Gs evaluation for 2-level inverter

The optimal GS parameter is obtained with the DC-Bus voltage and the nominal RMS AC-current.

Based on the obtained GS and TseHS, equivalent impedance for an open, or close switch can be calculated.

 

This should be considered to make sure their values will not have to much impact on the simulation result.

Gs evaluation for breakers

Choosing the right Gs result in finding the best trade off between the COpen and the LClose of a switch.

 

First, we need to identify nominal power of the circuit to find the nominal impedance of the circuit ZBase.

If 1% leakage current is acceptable, ZOpen should be 100 times larger.

Using the network frequency, we can get COpen value based on ZOpen and FGrid.

Knowing COpen, and TseHS, GS can be calculated

Finally, LClose must be calculated to validate it will not impact simulation result. Furthermore, if there is an inductance in series with the breaker, LClose can be subtracted from this inductance. This ensure the current value but may result in an error on the phase and amplitude the voltage measured near the breaker.

Having the largest ZOpen is desirable, but it will result in a larger LOpen. Again, this can be mitigated if there is a serial inductance with the breaker.
