Network Filters
Introduction
Passive filters are elements showing an identical impedance in different resistance-inductance capacitor combinations series or parallel connected. Even though these can be represented with simple passive elements, using filters has the advantage of eliminating nodes between components, thereby decreasing the number of nodes or the size of the Z matrix in the station where they are found. Meaning that the station simulation time is also decreased.
There are five types of filters available in HYPERSIM®, each offering both a series and grounding connection option:
Filter Type | Description |
---|---|
The series C-type filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. | |
The grounded C-type filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. | |
The series double-damped filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. | |
The grounded double-damped filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. | |
The series generic RLC filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. | |
The grounded generic RLC filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. | |
The series high-pass filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. | |
The grounded high-pass filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. | |
The series series-parallel RLC filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. | |
The grounded series-parallel RLC filter is available both for 1-phase and 3-phase connections. |
