Common Resolver Out

Block

Mask

Description

The Resolver Out is based on the basic resolver which is a two-pole resolver. The Resolver Out block is used to control the resolver.

This block has the following properties and features:

  • Possibility to use 2 resolvers per block.

  • Real-time adjustments of the speed, amplitude (carrier, sin, and cos), frequency (carrier), and offset (sin and cos).

  • Carrier selects between an internal carrier and an external carrier.

Parameters

ControllerName

Bind this block to an OpCtrl block by entering the same 'Controller Name' as specified in the OpCtrl block. The OpCtrl block controls the initialization of the settings of one specific FPGA in the system.

DataIn port number

Enter the index of the DataIn port to be controlled by this block, in the range [1:64] for the VC707, TE0741 and OP48xx FPGAs and [1:32] for all others.

Slot infos

This non-editable parameter displays the physical location of the analog output channels related to the selected DataIn port, as obtained from the parsing of the configuration file.

Number of resolver signals

The block can use between 1 and 2 resolvers. To use 2 resolvers, it is required to set the number of resolvers in the block parameters and to use a 2:1 multiplexer before sending the data into each respective data input.

Carrier Select Mode

The user can select to use an internal carrier or an external carrier.

  • Internal Carrier: When the resolver is set in this mode, the internal exciter is configured via a generated carrier from the FPGA.

  • External Carrier: When the resolver is set in this mode, the external carrier is taken via an analog input port of the FPGA board.

Inputs

Speed

Set the speed of the simulated rotor. The value is represented in Hz. Range of values: -20000 to 20000.

Car.Amp

Carrier amplitude if no external exciter is used. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: 0 to 15.

Car.Freq

Carrier frequency if no external exciter is used. The value is represented in Hz. Range of values: 0 to 95000.

Sin.Amp

Sine of the modulated amplitude. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: 0 to 15. Due to hardware limitations, the product of Car.Amp and Sin.Amp should be less than 15.

Sin.Bias

Sine offset. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: -15 to 15.

Cos.Amp

Cosine of the modulated amplitude. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: 0 to 15. Due to hardware limitations, the product of Car.Amp and Sin.Amp should be less than 15.

Cos.Bias

Cosine offset. The value is represented in Volts. Range of values: -15 to 15.

Outputs

The Status output returns the following values:
